This stands for Microwave sounding unit. The MSU was founded in the year 1978 and covers all the world. The msu has a 4 radiator channel which has the potential to operate within 50-60 GHz.

The meteorological department investigates the use of MSU and investigates the weather around the world. Either MSU is used solely or it is used in combination with two basic infrared instruments.
